Located in the city of Schiedam, the Nolet Distillery has been producing some of The Netherlands’ finest spirits for over 300 years. Among these is Ketel One, a brand of premium vodka developed by 10th-generation distillery owner and family head Carolus Nolet. Named after the copper pot still originally used in its distillation, "Distilleerketel #1", the vodka provides drinkers with a unique take on this traditionally column-distilled spirit offering a smoother, more nuanced character that makes it an excellent choice for both neat drinking and mixing.
Each batch of Ketel One Vodka begins with 100% GMO-free European wheat which is fermented and then distilled using a combination of their Distilleerketel #1 and column stills. The resulting spirits are then carefully blended together before being cut with pristine, locally-sourced water.
Once poured, this vodka yields a vibrant aroma of grain and citrus notes which then give way to a gentle palate of wheat, more citrus, and subtle black pepper spice before culminating in a long and drying finish with a pleasing alcohol burn.
