Founded in 1772, Veuve Clicquot is currently the second-largest champagne house in the world and is credited with some of the biggest breakthroughs in the industry chief among them being the creation of the first vintage champagne in 1810. Named after Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin who took over the reins of the business following the untimely death of her husband, the house saw its greatest expansion under her leadership with their champagne bottlings going far beyond France’s borders all the way to the royal courts of many European countries thus allowing them to carefully build the reputation for quality and luxury that the house continues to enjoy to this day.

Introduced in 1818, the Veuve Clicquot Rose Champagne holds the distinction of being the first-ever blended rosé champagne and was produced in the same line as their world-famous yellow label. Made using Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay sourced from 50-60 different crus, this champagne starts its life with the individual wines being blended with their prized reserve wines and then bottled where the champagne then undergoes a secondary fermentation process that further develops its flavor as well as imbues it with its trademark bubbles. After this, the champagne is then rested for at least 30 months in the cellars before finally being disgorged, corked, and labeled.

Coppery-orange in color, each sip of this rose imparts a very expressive nose of very ripe strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, dried fruits, and nutty pastries. This is then complemented by a firm, fresh, and full-bodied palate of red fruits, zesty citrus, spice, and vibrant acidity, all neatly tied together by a long and satisfying finish.
