Since launching its first vintage in 1972, the winery has constantly developed its style year after year putting out even more exquisite vintages culminating in their most recent outings that not only showcase the natural character of the varietal but also the knowledge and skill they have accumulated over the decades.
Launched as a companion to their Napa Valley offering, the Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon makes use of grapes sourced from the Alexander Valley Appellation and incorporates its unique terroir into its character. Each vintage starts with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot which are harvested and then pressed before being vinified in separate vats. Following this initial process, the resulting wines are then aged in American oak barrels for 24 months before being finally blended, bottled, and labeled, ready to be enjoyed by Cab lovers the world over.
On the nose, this maroon-colored wine yields a seductive aroma of maraschino cherries, blackberry bramble, star anise, clove, and savory brisket which is then immediately followed by a succulent and complex palate of dark fruits, currants, brown sugar, toasted vanilla, silky tannins, and oak that culminates in a long and expressive finish.
