Each batch is a mash bill consisting of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye fermented with the help of mash from a previous batch. The resulting spirit goes through distillation and is filtered through a 10-foot thick layer of Maplewood charcoal before being left to age in new, charred American oak barrels. After this aging process, the whiskey is filtered once again before being brought to proof with pure, locally-sourced water.
Each sip of this whiskey yields a welcoming aroma of corn, banana, vanilla, caramel, spice, and hints of barrel char and a sweet and velvety palate of more bananas, licorice, wafers, cinnamon, and toasted meringue before neatly wrapping up with an equally smooth and warming finish of citrus, spice, and sweet caramel corn.
