Each small batch of this bourbon ferments the mash bill (consisting of 63% corn, 27% rye, and 10% malted barley) and distills it in copper stills. The resulting spirit is then left to mature for several years in new, charred American oak barrels.
On the nose, this golden amber bourbon conveys a toasty aroma of pepper, cinnamon, rye, honeysuckle, and cornbread. These are complemented on the palate by light and dry notes of roasted pear, brown sugar, more rye, oak, and barrel char. Altogether these are tied up by a short and savory finish of vegetal notes and even more spice.
