Incorporating Sicilian values and traditions into their everyday business activities, the winery chose to elevate the native varietals of the island rather than bringing in their own giving their expressions a quintessentially Sicilian character that is apparent in every sip.
One such expression is the Stemmari Cabernet Sauvignon, a tantalizing homage to the world’s foremost grape varietal brimming with aromatic complexity and elegance that is far beyond its price range. Made from 100% Sicilian Cabernet Sauvignon, each bottle of this wine begins its life with the harvesting, de-stemming, and pressing of the grapes, extracting as much of their juice as possible to be vinified in temperature-controlled tanks for 12 days at 80°F. The resulting wine then undergoes maturation in French barriques for 8-10 months before being finally tapped and bottled at a modest 13.5% ABV.
On the nose, this reddish-purple wine yields an enticing whiff of black currants, ripe cherries, vanilla, oak, and spice, paving the way for a firm and powerful palate of black currants, licorice, citrus acidity, cinnamon, and delicate tannins before wrapping up with a silky and warming finish.
