Co-founded in 2013 by George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman, the Casamigos brand started as nothing more than for friends and neighbors to source top-shelf quality tequila for their enjoyment. After locating a distillery that was willing to create a range of tequilas based on their specifications, the trio eventually ordered more and more bottles.
The distillery owner finally suggested that they acquire a business license so they can get their tequilas as a commercial product. This laid the foundations of what was to become the fastest-growing super-premium tequila brand in the United States. In 2017, the British spirits giant Diageo acquired the company from Clooney and his cohorts for a cool $1 billion.
Their Casamigos Blanco Tequila is from 100% Blue Weber Agave harvested at its peak maturity from farms in the Highlands of Jalisco. The agaves are slowly cooked in traditional ovens, crushed, and fermented before distillation resulting in this signature taste.
