Founded by George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman in 2013, the Casamigos brand began as nothing more than a way for friends and neighbors to enjoy quality tequila. After finding a distillery in Mexico that was willing to produce tequila to their specific instructions, they began ordering ever-increasing quantities eventually leading the distillery’s owners to convince the trio to acquire a business license thus laying the foundations of what would become a billion-dollar tequila brand.
Launched as part of their inaugural range, the Casamigos Anejo Tequila starts its life with only the finest Blue Weber Agaves harvested from the highlands of Jalisco by skilled jimadors cooked in traditional ovens, crushed, fermented, and twice-distilled. The resulting spirit is aged in premium American white oak barrels for 14 months.
Deep gold in color, each sip of this tequila greets its drinker with an enticing nose of vanilla, citrus, confectioner’s sugar, barrel spice, leather, and sandalwood. This is then complemented by a smooth and sophisticated palate of cooked agave, roasted pineapple, sweet corn, cinnamon, peppery spice, oak, and faint smoke, all tied together by a long and lingering finish of tobacco and spice.
