Why Rye?
No idea, but I will say that this one is worth the effort. Master Distiller & Blender Rob Dietrich has crafted something special with this double-barreled and exquisitely finished rye. Savory and sweet all rolled into one - it's worth getting while you can!
Let's talk about Rye for a minute, the best ryes are something to end the night with. Rich and generous and cascading over your tongue with a silky opulence, the best rye I have tried is usually enhanced by a finish of some kind. Whether it's charred port barrel staves, rum casks, or even maple syrup barrels - it's the finish that makes the rye. And Blackened’s new ‘Rye the Lightning’ will give you a thunderstorm of flavor with its sexy Madeira and rum finishes.

THE WHISKEY STATS:
This Limited Edition Rye from Metallica's Blackened American Whiskey is crafted from a selection of Kentucky straight rye whiskies aged between 5 and 8 years and hand-selected by BLACKENED Master Distiller & Blender, Rob Dietrich. The whiskeys are then vatted and transferred for finishing in Madeira wine and Caribbean rum casks. The double cask finishing results in notes of dried fig, hay, pinewood, pear, and rum cake on the nose, and on the palate, clover honey, mint, corn husk, sugar cane, walnut, and cinnamon.
