The St. George 40th Anniversary Edition Single Malt Whiskey is a celebration of four decades of artisanal distillation excellence. This highly limited release, with only 1982 bottles produced, combines decades of craftsmanship with a diverse collection of finishing casks to create a truly unique spirit. Distilled from 100% two-row malted barley, this whiskey showcases the depth and complexity of American single malt. The blend includes whiskies aged between 4 and 25 years, reflecting the distillery’s rich history and meticulous aging process. With a proof of 48% ABV (96 proof), this whiskey ensures a robust and full-bodied drinking experience. Each 750mL bottle exemplifies the distillery's commitment to quality and innovation.
The 40th Anniversary Edition brings together a selection of casks that have been carefully curated by head distiller/blender Dave Smith. Out of more than 600 sampled barrels, only 14 were chosen to create this exceptional whiskey. The barrels used include ex-bourbon barrels, French oak, Cognac, apple brandy, umeshu, Port, and sherry casks, each contributing to the whiskey's rich and multifaceted profile. This meticulous selection and blending process highlights the unique qualities of each cask, resulting in a whiskey that is both dynamic and complex.
