The resulting spirit blend is then sweetened by the addition of sugar before being diluted with pure water prior to bottling.
On the nose, this liqueur yields a pleasing aroma of sweet anise, paving the way for thick and oily palate licorice, more anise, elderberries, and spice, culminating in a toasty finish with a pleasing alcohol burn.
