The Jagermeister liqueur is a blend of botanicals consisting of 56 herbs, fruits, roots, and spices. The botanicals are grounded and macerated for 2-3 days in a neutral spirit and then filtered before maturing for a year in oak barrels. Following this aging period, the liqueur is then filtered for a second time before being blended with sugar, caramel, and more alcohol before finally being packaged in their iconic green bottles.
On the nose, this green liqueur yields a powerful aroma of herbs and citrus notes with a warm and scrumptious palate of ripe fruits, pepper, candied orange peels, nutmeg, and fresh pine. All these culminate in a long-lasting finish of herbs, pepper, and sweet fruits.
