Distilled from 100% malted barley, the whisky spends its maturation in very used bourbon barrels, slowly developing its flavors over the course of 15 years, transferred to new French Limousin oak barrels for a brief finishing period lasting a number of months, and brought to proof using pure water from nearby springs.
Each dram of this deep gold Scotch starts with a welcoming nose of ripe apples, buttercream, Madeira wine, almonds, fudge, floral notes, and oak which then give way to a sweet and sophisticated palate of succulent peaches, orange slices, vanilla, butterscotch, almonds, delicate spice, and slight Chardonnay oakiness before wrapping up with a fairly long and drying finish accented by warming notes of peppery spice.
