Founded by legendary distiller William Grant, Glenfiddich currently holds the title of best-selling single malt Scotch in the world with a presence in over 180 countries and accounting for 35% of total single malt sales. Currently headed by the fifth generation of Grant, the distillery is home to a wide variety of expressions ranging from core 12, 15, 18, and 21-year-old offerings to luxurious limited editions aged for up to 64 years. Over the years, the distillery also launched a number of specialty bottlings meant to showcase the versatility of single malt Scotch by finishing their whiskies in select casks.
One such expression is the Glenfiddich 14-Year-Old Bourbon Barrel Reserve, a single malt crafted as a tribute to the American bourbon industry which has played an important role to Scottish distillers for centuries by providing much of the seasoned barrels needed for maturing their single malts. Distilled from 100% malted Scottish barley, the whisky spends its entire 14-year maturation exclusively in ex-bourbon American oak casks. After this initial beauty rest, it is then transferred to heavily-charred oak barrels from the Kelvin Cooperage to impart it with the distinctive bourbon-esque richness before being diluted with pure water and finally bottled.
