Launched in 2013, Casamigos is a brand of premium tequila co-founded by George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman who originally conceived of the label as nothing more than a way to procure premium tequilas for their personal enjoyment. After commissioning a distillery in Jalisco to produce their vision of a tequila that "tasted great and didn't burn going down," the trio were later convinced to acquire a business license in order to easily acquire the ever-increasing quantities of tequila they order thereby laying the foundations of what would become a billion-dollar spirits company.
The Casamigos Reposado serves as their take on the quintessential rested tequila offering a rich blend of sweet and smoky flavors that make it an excellent sipping and mixing spirit. Made from 100% Blue Weber Agave, each batch of this tequila begins with the agave hearts being harvested by hand and then slowly cooked in traditional ovens. After this, the cooked agaves are then crushed extracting every ounce of juice as possible to be fermented and then twice distilled with the resulting Blanco tequila left to rest for 7 months in ex-whiskey oak barrels.
