Each batch of the Blackened Whiskey begins with a selection of straight whiskeys sourced from different distilleries across North America. The whiskey undergoes a process known as "Black Noise" where the blended whiskeys are put in "black brandy barrels" and for weeks constantly bombarded with low-hertz sound. This agitates the spirits within, allowing them to absorb more of the wood’s flavor resulting in a richer, smoother whiskey then tamed with pure water and bottled at a hearty 90 proof.
On the nose, this whiskey yields a welcoming aroma of aniseed, rye bread, orange, honey, resin, spice, and oak. These pave the way to a sweet and multi-layered palate of apricot, strawberry, dried dark fruits, rose petals, more honey, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and mint. They are all tied together by a lengthy and creamy finish accented by notes of butterscotch and honey.
