Launched in 2011 by the Louisville Distilling Company, the Angel's Envy brand is touted by many to be some of the finest bourbons to grace the market in recent years. Serving as the brand’s flagship offering, the Angel's Envy Bourbon is made in very small batches of 8-10 barrels at a time and begins with their proprietary bourbon mash bill. After being fermented and distilled, the bourbon is aged between 4-6 years in new, charred American oak barrels before being transferred to used Ruby Port casks to finish for another 6 months. After this, the resulting bourbon is then brought to proof using pure water before finally being bottled in its distinctive curved bottle.
Bright gold in color, each sip of this bourbon begins with a welcoming aroma of maple syrup, vanilla, spice, and toasted nuts, paving the way for a rich, velvety, and fairly sweet palate of caramel-drenched raisins, ripe fruits, candied tangerine, corn, more maple syrup, chocolate, creamy vanilla, and hints of spice before wrapping up with a clean and an equally smooth finish with lingering notes of more raisins, spice, and Madeira wine.
