The Perfect Champagne for any New Year's Celebration

It is tradition to toast to the new year and to kiss someone special when the clock strikes 12. As you are hoping for prosperity and good fortune for the 2017 new year, we are making sure to have the best champagnes to fill your glass. We compiled a list of the most popular, elite, and bang for your buck brands.

Most Popular

These labels are great if you want something reliable and recognizable. They are all French and have the prestigious right to title themselves Champagne, unlike their American (Sparkling Wine), Spanish (Cava), and Italian (Prosecco) counterparts. If you are hosting a party and you want to impress your guests with a beautiful glass of Champagne to ring in the new year, these are perfect choices.

Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label

Probably one of the most recognisable and popular Champagnes on the market.  It has reached this popularity because of its consistency in every bottle. This full-bodied Champagne blends pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay grapes to achieve a well-balanced flavor that is hard to beat in this price range. As soon as your guests see you break out the yellow label they will know the party has begun, as this iconic label is now a symbol for a great celebration!

Moët & Chandon

Moët & Chandon is a large house in France that produces many different labels under their reputable brand, all of which are high-quality products. The most renown is, of course, Dom Perignon, but they also produce other varieties that are a little more wallet friendly. Brut Imperial is a very versatile style that appeals to all palates, it is formerly known as White Star and it is synonymous with luxury. Brut Imperial Rose is another great choice from the Moët & Chandon family, the Rose offers a more fruit forward flavor with a spicy finish. Finally, Nectar Imperial is one of my favorites, offering an interesting sweetness that is perfect to celebrate and toast with.

Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut

This Champagne is often referred to as P.J.; it is most well-known for delivering light and elegant flavors. This is a great style to sip, it is perfect to sip all night on New Year's Eve.

Laurent Perrier

This house is not as mainstream as the previously mentioned Champagnes, but it is well established among those in the know, this is a wonderful Champagne house. The Brut N.V.  is made in a very classic traditional style that is consistent with what someone would expect in their glass. In my personal and professional opinion, their Rose needs to appear in ALL three sections of this list, as well as your glass.  It tastes like it is an elite without the price tag, and it is produced by one of the more popular houses in the game.

Elite

The following Champagnes have set themselves apart creating a class of their own.  These Champagnes are made with such finesse that not only can you enjoy them today and it will taste like nothing you have ever tasted before, they are all age-worthy and they will taste even better in the years to come. So, buy a case instead of a bottle and make it a tradition to sip them every year on New Year's Eve.

Krug Grand Cuvee

Krug is considered the King of Champagne among some of the most highly trained palates. When you pour Krug Grande Cuvee in the glass, your mouth will water in anticipation as delicate bubbles float gracefully to the surface. It is a combination of up to 15 vintages resulting in a well-balanced and complex flavored Champagne.

Dom Perignon

By far the most well-known name, people who don't even know what Champagne is have heard of Dom Perignon. Named after the monk that labored the land to create and bless this amazing wine. Their Non-Vintage is synonymous with luxury, joy, and the epitome of celebrations. This year they decided to release a limited edition designed by famed artist Michael Riedel, a contemporary German artist. This limited edition feature vintage 2006.

Veuve Cliquot La Grande Dame

The sweet tastes of peaches combined with the nutty essence of almond slowly emerge at the finish, for a champagne that is well rounded, delicate, and oh-so refined. It's the perfect culmination of luxury, boldness, and fun. When you want to buy champagne that's fitting for both royalty and commoner, Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame is an obvious choice.

Bang For Your Buck

Rotari Sparkling Wine

This is an easy go to Sparkling Wine, which is truly from Italy. This is a wine made in contemporary style, drink now kind of wine, and it is produced with the idea of celebrating at the forefront of their mind. The Brut is made with 100% Chardonnay and has a very creamy soft mouth feel. Their Rose is a more fruit- forward wine, with a fuller body to enjoy. This is wine is great if you are on a budget and you need a sparkling wine with presence.

Segura Viudas

This bottle is not only a great deal, but it looks like it expensive. However, this Cava is more than a just pretty face, it comes through on flavor too. Segura is aged for 30 months creating very complex floral and citrus tastes, without being too sweet.

This California Sparkling Wine is made by Louis Roederer with people that are looking to get a great bottle, by a well-known producer, for a small price. It is made in the traditional old world Champagne style and it can easily fool someone into thinking they are sipping on Champagne, not Sparkling Wine.
