For the 2017 third release of Blood Oath Rye, the distillery continues the tradition of partnering with classic wine producers in the heart of California. Swanson (of chicken broth fame) has been producing limited merlot and small batch Bordeaux style wines decades in Napa Valley. The Swanson Cabernet barrels give Blood Oath’s bourbon added intricate characteristics that have bourbon lovers hooked. This short-lived love-affair between Kentucky and California will leave you wanting more.

On the nose are the typical notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak - the palate is where Pact 3 really shines. The mouthfeel is creamy smooth with flavors of caramel and vanilla. You will notice hints of toasted oak and a spicy finish due to the High Rye in this Whiskey. Despite the high proof, Pact 3 is still ultra smooth. The finish is long and lingers with spice, caramel and oak. Pact 3 remains balanced and smooth.
